On this forum we are indeed fortunate to have a resident expert (Ned Steel aka "Old Ned") to help us identify birds and other wildlife we see and photograph in the field. Before asking "Old Ned" for help, we have searched our Field Guides and other sources attempting to ID the bird we have photographed.
What field guide or other source do you use to identify Florida birds. You may use more than one (1) so this poll allows you to select up to 5 answers........

Interesting poll, Ira. Thanks for sharing it. More than anything else, I Google what I think it is, or a brief description of the bird and see who comes up with the closest match. Then, rather than relying on their possible erroneous information, I type in the name they give it and see what Audubon, Cornell or even Wiki comes up with. I don't trust Wiki entirely, but it often gives me a quick confirmation and doesn't open with pop-ups.
