I'm starting to dabble in astrophotography, and this is my first major attempt. I'm pretty pleased! Below is the Orion & Running Man Nebulas taken with my Nikon D5300 with my Sigma 150-600 Lens at 400MM and cropped. This photo was taken with the camera mounted to a iEXOS-100 equatorial mount. This is a stacked image resulting from 80 - 30 sec. exposures at various ISO's raging from 400 - 3200 -- Total Exposure time 40 minutes. Same nature photo equipment, just new "tripod"

Hey Tim. The Orion Nebula is found in the constellation Orion. Its the middle "star" in Orion's sword. It travels across the night sky. It rises south east, and sets southwest right now. If interested the free program Stellarium stellarium.org/Will show you its exact location for a given time of night. Pretty amazing really. This was taken in downtown Orlando at The end of my driveway. Directly under a street light. Not ideal, but Orion is so bright (can be seen with the naked eye), and can cut through. I plan to try more. Next target is the Andromeda galaxy!

Thanks Fish, I worked in rural Levy County once and there was zero light pollution there if you ever get over that way.
