We ran across this large wild bee hive while hiking at the Fort Frum WMA near Yeehaw Junction in Indian River County. The St. Johns Water Management property managers used tape to cordon off the trail that goes right by the hive.

 I have seen many hollow Oak trees where wild bees built nests in the cavities, but I have never seen a nest like this built on the outside of a pine tree.
