We saw and heard a large number of honey bees working the palmetto flowers in the vicinity of a tall cypress. It was observed many of the bees were flying up to an knot on the cypress tree trunk. A photograph of the knot revealed it was hollowed out into the tree with a large number of honey bees around the aperature of the hole. The bee hive was approximately 25 - 30 feet above ground.
