Sadly, I must report that during the overnight hours last night a predator found and destroyed the Black Necked Stilt nest at the Dan Click Ponds. In this photo you can see an egg that rolled out of the nest and down the hill. The Black Necked Stilt attempted to roll it back up into the nest without success. I came back about an hour later and found a White Ibis was at the nest cleaning up what was left of the eggs. Mother Nature can make survival in this world very difficult.........

Sad indeed but thanks for sharing the photos of the nesting site and the others of the black-necked stilts. Now we at least know what a typical nest looks like.
