Today, I found the first Black Necked Stilt nest to appear at the Dan Click Ponds. Note that they really don’t construct a nest like most birds. Instead, they just lay their eggs on a little vegetation or mud just above the water level. In these photos, it is the male that is tending the nest and eggs.

Thanks Ira, very cool. You probably said already, but is this the north or south Click pond. I am looking forward to chick pics. These photos were taken in the south pond. You will have to wait 21-26 days for the eggs to hatch and see chicks. A lot can happen to the eggs in that time.........

You are definitely persistent in your pursuit of great photos!! Primo shots Ira!!! Thank you, Frank. I'm an old retired man, and the only thing I have to do is explore the the outdoors trying to photograph wildlife.
