Thank you Tim and Ira. Lettuce Lake Park is a Hillsborough County Park located on the Northern edge of Tampa just off I-75 on Fletcher Avenue. It is beautiful 240 acre park with an extensive boardwalk along a portion of the Hillsborough river and its flood plain with many birds to photograph.

Cool. Pretty wild that is a busy & developed area. I have heard upper Hillsborough river is nice too. You seem to travel around Fl, this is a pretty good website for nature areas in Fl. www.floridarambler.com/

Thanks for the information Tim. I have seen some of his youtube "Rambles". We lived in Lutz from the early 70's for about 15 years. The Lettuce lake area was way out in the country at that time. If you want a fantastic kayak experience try the Hillsborough River. There are several very good launch areas. I would suggest starting at one of the following launch sites: John Sargent Park, Morris Bridge, Trout Creek or Lettuce Lake. Launching from Lettuce Lake requires you carry/drag your kayak 300-400 feet to and from the launch site. All of the mentioned sections are outstanding for beauty.
