I have been working in Villages of Seaport area in Cape Canaveral where there is a large group of resident peafowl. There is a series of retention ditches along main road & I saw this peahen guiding her 3 chicks along the edge of the water yesterday. According to FWC they are pavo cristatus species.

Several resident populations of these birds can be found in Brevard County, including in the city of Palm Bay and I think Rockledge. They are disliked by many due to noise and the mess they leave behind.

Yes they are. I like seeing them, I don't know I would want to live by them.
