I saw this bird kayaking the St Johns river south of Lone Cabbage Fish Camp

Nice capture Tim!! I have found that kayak photography can often be tricky ... drifting into mangroves/trees, running aground, etc.

Hi Frank, keeping it steady is always a challenge. I find drifting up to the birds works pretty good at not disturbing them. The birds I see on the St Johns are always pretty skittish. I put the camera in a soft side case & put that up between my legs. The Rebel is a lot easier to use & focuses faster, but the SX60 HS has much greater zoom capacity.
