Part of the Blue Heron Water Reclamation Facility (owned by the city of Titusville) is located at 4800 Deep Marsh Road on Highway 50, west of I-95 in Titusville. This system was designed so that any effluent that is not utilized in the reclaimed water distribution system can be diverted to the wetland area. The man-made wetlands cover 300 acres and can process over 6.75 million gallons of water a day. Completed in early 1998 and was opened to the public for Bird Watching and Wildlife Viewing.
The entrance is located on Route 50 about 1/4 mile West of Interstate 95 at exit 215 . A remote operated gate is often drawn across the entrance to the plant but a button is mounted on the left side of the access road. Pushing this button will alert a city employee who will open the gate for you. After signing in at the office, proceed to the back of the plant section to the entrance of the raised berm road which surrounds the wetlands.
There is no fee to access the wetlands.
Access to the area is from 7am to 3:30 pm - Monday through Friday. IMPORTANT: If you want to stay later than 3:30 pm call the office.
Week-end Access: If you want to visit on Saturday or Sunday call on Friday and let them know.
If you don't call the gates will be locked on the week-end.
