Yup! A 3 hour tour! OldNed has been kind enough to reserve and guide a three hour tour at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge on Friday, November 30th, for members of this forum. There will be no charge for the tour! Ned will be the bus tour guide and will take us around the Refuge to places of interest to photographers, as opposed to the regular tours which have less emphasis on photography. Space is limited to 14 people. Two are taken so far, so that leaves 12 spots. We will be meeting at the MINWR office at 8am on Friday November 30th, 2012. Sign up by replying on this thread. Please only reply if you are certain you will go, as space is limited.

OK, this is your chance to meet face to face with members of this forum, something many members have posted that they would like to do. A tour by Ned Steel is something to look forward to. If you have never meet him, you are in for a treat and you will be impressed with his knowledge of wildlife and plants. After all, he has spent his lifetime studying and teaching the subject. You will be taking the tour on this 14 passenger bus..... There is only room for 14, so if you want to go reply to Rich as soon as possible as two slots have already been claimed leaving only 12 seats left.

Yikes! People are really signin' up. Guess I better start studying birds and stuff and try to learn how to drive a bus. I'll show you the van we used to use for the Tours. Part of it is sticking out of the ditch. I still say that wasn't my fault.

Hopefully the bus's seats will be dried out and the fish removed by the 30th! ;D
So is the bus half full or half empty at 7? I'd say half full folks, only 7 spots left.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over..... you've taken care of all your loved ones and friends .......Now it's time to do something for yourself! So take a day to spend some time in tune with nature on an OldNed tour at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. We still have room for 7 people.

Here's the scoop on the MI Refuge Forum Tour on Friday...and thanks Rich for thinking up this idea. Refuge Visitor Center is at the A arrow on the map Directions:From I-95-get off at Exit 220 (FL 406-Garden Street) Go East on Garden St. for about 3 miles to US 1 Continue on Garden St (406) Refuge Visitor Center is 5 miles from the Garden St./US1 intersection From the South on US1-go through most of downtown Titusville to Garden St. Turn right on Garden (406) Go 5 miles to Visitor Center. From the North on US1-once you cross the railroad bridge, watch for the KFC on the right. Turn left there onto Garden St and continue 5 miles to the Visitor Center. Park at the Visitor Center parking lot & come on in. I'll be there by 8am & we'll take off in the bus at around 9am. Plan on about 3 hours on the bus tour-I'll try to show you some of the places that you can return to on your own to photograph our critters, plants and scenery. I'm looking forward to y'all coming up & to meeting those of you that I only know through Ira's Forum.

I wish I could go (maybe next time) but you all have a great time! Just remember this is a 3 hour tour... for some reason I keep hearing the theme to Gilligan's Island in my head. I sure hope you guys don't get stranded out there. If you do make it back I want to know who was the Skipper and who was Gilligan of the group. ;D
PS: I already know who the Professor is, hint:: His first name starts with an I and ends with a A and has a R in the middle.

Count is now at nine, with possibly, a couple of shady characters lurking in the background.
