Thomas J. Dunkerton informed us of the following.......
FYI: SR 406 and Blackpoint Drive have been closed the past 3 days and still closed to day. A lightning strike sparked a wildfire and fire crews are igniting controlled burns at strategic points in an effort to prevent it from jumping on to Blackpoint itself as well as burning up remaining fuel to stem other wildlfire outbreaks in that area.
Also, Mosquito Control has been pumping water from Mosqito Lagoon into the Biolab Road impoundment. The pump is at the north entrance and will run for several days but eventually will fill the impoundment all the way down to the south end. This will disrupt a vast population of Saltmarsh Mosquitoes from hatching!
