If you are looking for Bug Ids, I highly recommend setting up an account at bugguide.net . It will give you access to real experts in the field. Only good for US bugs though and you will need to let them know where you took the picture. These are used by researchers to establish ranges, etc. An example of one of my own ID requests can be seen at bugguide.net/node/view/323101You need to provide them with enough in the image to make an ID though. While supercloseups are fun to take, it isn't always possible to make an ID with just that. Whole bugs are good and you can associate tighter shots if you wish but, they must be of the same insect.
