This spot has been found by a few. In the last couple of years, the Eagles Nest in the vacant lot next door has become one of the most photographed around. This year, the eagles came and went without producing viable offspring and a pair of great horned owls took over the nest. The owlets are now flying and won't be around much longer. Dusk is the best time to see them active. A pair of Pileated Woodpeckers are nesting in the larger snag near the intersection with Henry St. Best time for the Pileated Woodpeckers is morning. Smaller birds can be seen throughout the park and the adjacent vacant lots. The park is at 501 Shreve St in Punta Gorda. I'll be looking out for you.

BTW, there is a gift shop in the park which has a list of recent sightings and the lady who runs it is very knowledgable (if she isn't busy).
There is also a voluntary collection jar for the maintenance of the history park.
It also has about 100 different varieties of Hibiscus in honor of the late Harry Goulding who was one of the nations highest rated hybridizers of this plant.
