We came upon this cute little raccoon while bike riding at Three Forks Conservation Area on Sunday morning.

Nice shot, Frank. Yes indeed, they can be very cute in the wild, but when they come into the areas we live in they can sometimes be destructive or a nuisance.

I remember when critters happily lived in most of the areas that we now occupy. I think our little skunks that were so prevalent when we were kids just got run over by civilization.

I remember when critters happily lived in most of the areas that we now occupy. I think our little skunks that were so prevalent when we were kids just got run over by civilization. I remember the Spotted Skunks (we called them Civic Cats) back in the 1960's on the beach side. They would come to the back door at night and my mother would feed them cat food. I even got sprayed by one when I got too close, and I smelled so bad that the dog would not come close to me.
I have been looking for one to photograph now for several years, but I have been unable to find any.........
