Brevard County Viera Wetlands 1 hr
Update on berm driving: In anticipation for the Birding & Wildlife Festival starting January 22, 2020.
We plan to have the berm roads in the Viera Wetlands open to vehicular traffic by Saturday January 18, 2020. Repairs are currently underway and will be for the next week and a half or so. Please use caution when walking or riding in the wetlands at this time, as there will be some machinery and scattered piles of road/dirt materials there.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thanks for the update Ira. Have you any information regarding closure for repair of the road to Moccasin Island?

Thanks for the update Ira. Have you any information regarding closure for repair of the road to Moccasin Island? Tim had reported that a washout of the road into the canal caused the closure. That was quite some time ago and I have not heard any more news about it.

Thanks Ira. I might take a walk, this week, on the South trail down to the hammock on the river.

I took a hike at Moccasin Island Conservation Area today. The road leading to the MICA parking lot is prety good up to where the trees form a canopy over the road. From there to the parking area the road is in poor shape with many moderately deep potholes.
