Yesterday while hiking at Split Oak Forest WEA we found these 2 little fawns ... they were only about 30 inches tall.

What a nice experience. Looks like a neet area. Does Innovation way come anywhere close to this? I read something about a highway being built through it.

The Split Oak Forest WEA is a beautiful area and a good place to see the Southern Fox squirrel as well. Yes the Central Florida Expressway Authority wants to put a major toll road through the southern portion of Split Oak. It appears that the Osceola County Commission is backing its construction as well. The project is currently on hold while both citizens and environmentalists challenge it in court.

Thanks, Frank, I didn't know how much of the road construction had been done. Seems to be a lot of development pressure in this area. The namesake split oak tree looked like it would be neet to see.
