Flower of the DUCK POTATO (Sagittaria latifolia) also known as broadleaf arrowhead, Indian potato, or wapato. It is a plant found in shallow wetlands, this flower was photographed at the Viera Wetlands. This plant produces edible tubers that were extensively used by the Indigenous peoples of the Americas. The seed and tubers of duck potato are readily consumed by waterfowl, songbirds, wading birds, and small mammals. More information.................
