The Whisk Fern (Psilotum nudum) is a common fern but is easily missed when roaming through the woods. This photo was taken at the St. Sebastian River Preserve SF.

I have lived in Florida all my life and have NEVER seen or heard of a Whisk Fern. After seeing your photographs of them I looked them up and one of the documents I came across was this PDF file on the Florida Whisk Fern. I love it when I learn new things about Florida Nature. Thank you, Frank.............

Thanks for the link to the PDF on the Florida Whisk Fern it was quite interesting. That article came from the Palmetto which is the official magazine for the Florida Native Plant Society. We have been members of the FNPS for many years but weren't, in 1984, when that article was written.
