During the month of July 2015, an update for AVG 2015 virus was automatically installed by AVG. In doing so a bug was introduced that causes AVG 2015 to block the Canon EOS Utility from running, causing a serious problem in downloading your photos from your Canon camera to your computer. AVG is aware of the problem and hopefully they will soon issue a fix for the problem. In the meantime, a workaround is available as described below: The workaround is to add the EOS Utility file (usually the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Canon\EOS Utility\EOS Utility.exe to the AVG Exceptions list. If you have other copies of the EOS Utility on your system, also add their locations to the AVG exceptions list. For instructions on how to add a file to the AVG exceptions list see: Exclude file, folder or website from AVG scanningIn the part Use this exception for:, uncheck Resident Shield and Manual and Scheduled Scan. Only Identity Protection needs to be checked. Further discussion on this problem can be read about on the AVG Support Community web site at AVG 2015 blocking Canon EOS Utility
