For those of you still waiting to receive your copy of the Tamron 150-600mm lens, be advised that the only thing in the box is the lens and the lens hood. There is no lens bag or case for the lens in the box. I have ordered a Lowepro Lens Case 13 x 32cm (Black) which will fit the lens with the tripod mount attached for my lens. I ordered mine from B&H Photo but you can order it at most camera stores. Information on this lens case can be read at the following link..... Lowepro Lens Case 13 x 32cm (Black)

Looks like this baby will be available for Nikon mid-May...according to Tamron. But how many will be available?

I have not pre-ordered this baby yet. I am waiting to see if the military exchange will carry it when it finally becomes available.

Well, if you have not pre-ordered it, I fear it will be a long time before you see that lens. The Canon mount has been shipping in limited quantities since January 17, but as fast as the lens arrives at the dealers they are gone. At this time even the Canon mounts are still available only on a pre-order basis.

I'm seriously considering dropping my order. This news of a "Limited" amount coming in now in May is frustrating.

I'm seriously considering dropping my order. This news of a "Limited" amount coming in now in May is frustrating. Wow! Don't give up just as the lens is about to ship! You don't want to miss this great lens...... B&H Photo is filling orders in the order that they received the orders. You placed yours about 4 weeks before I placed my Canon mount pre-order, so you should be very high on the list, and you will be one of the first to receive the Nikon mount lens. You are going to love the new lens.

For me it more of a want than a need. If I don't get one when they become available at first, it's no big deal. I can wait.

Still patiently awaiting my T-600 (my designation) lens. Two days ago I got the standard G&H email that it was still on back order but tomorrow is "mid-may" so hopefully I'll have it in my T600 jonesing hands in the next week or so. Still nursing the Sigma 150-500 along, but it's getting worse. Is one supposed to hear gears grinding in a lens? Surprisingly enough it's given me some fairly decent shots lately. Today, Nikkor came out with a new 400 2.8 teamed with a new TC1.4. I thought that might be the way to go till I saw the combo coat $12,500! Guess I'll hang in for the T600.
